The products certified with the Solar Keymark shall bare the official Keymark logo.
The Keymark shall in principle be affixed to the product itself by being engraved, pressed, moulded, printed or by any other method. If affixing to the product itself is not possible or practical , it shall be affixed to the product ’s package, the labelling, the instructions for use, or accompanying commercial documentation.
The marking includes an identification code of the empowered certification body which has granted the Keymark. The allocation of this identification code is administered by CCB for CEN and by the members of the corresponding Keymark scheme(s) in the CENELEC area. The identification code must remain clearly legible.
Other marks used in conjunction with the Keymark shall not create confusion with it, nor shall they reduce its legibility and visibility.
For more details please check the Solar Keymark Database of Certified products.
CE marking is a mandatory conformity mark for products placed on the market in the European Economic Area (EEA). The letters "CE" stand for "Conformité Européenne" ("European Conformity").

Main difference between the Solar Keymark and the CE-mark
The Solar Keymark is a quality label and the CE-mark just attests that the product fulfils minimum legal requirements according to specific European directives. In general the CE marking is not a quality mark but this depends on the directives regulating specific industrial goods.
By including the CE marking on a product, a manufacturer ensures that it conforms with the essential requirements of the applicable EC directives.

CE-marking related to Construction Product Directive (CPD)
CE-marking of solar collectors related to the Construction Product Directive (CPD) is under preparation.
CE-marking related to Pressure Equipment Directive (PED)
As solar collectors are pressurized, the question arises if they are touched by the regulations of the EU pressure equipment directive (PED).
In the Solar Keymark database, collectors and systems with Solar Keymark are listed with links to manufacturer's web's and to data sheets with certified values of collector and system performance parameters.
Note: We receive from the certification bodies updates for the database approx. once a month. If you don't see your new product in the database, please contact the certification body.
If you want to know more about the collector performance parameters - and if you want to compare your collector to a typical collector, go to:
