CE-marking related to Construction Product Directive (CPD)
CE-marking of solar collectors related to the Construction Product Directive (CPD) is under preparation. Mandate 369 on harmonising standards for and CE-marking of "energy capturing devices" has been issued from the Commission.The response from ESTIF and the solar thermal CEN technical committee TC312 is that CE-marking of collectors could be of benefit for the market - but CE-marking should go hand in hand with Keymarking:
- CE-marking being the manufacturer declared (lower level) quality assurance scheme
- Keymarking being the 3rd party certified (higher level) quality assurance scheme
