Soltherm Europe receives European prize for Best Renewable

Yesterday evening ESTIF member Ecofys received on behalf of Soltherm Europe the European prize for Best Renewable Energy Promotion. The ceremony took place at the European Conference for Renewable Energy in Berlin, which is organised by the European Commission. Soltherm Europe - an Ecofys coordinated inititative of 20 partners, including the German Solar Industry Association (BSi) and the Euroean Solar Thermal Industry Federation (ESTIF) - is aimed at promoting solar heating systems in Europe....

Brussels/Freiburg, 19 June 2007: Today, the European Solar Thermal Industry Federation (ESTIF) has published their latest market statistics for the 27 EU Member States and Switzerland at their bi-annual estec conference. The market development in 2006 exceeded expectations and solar thermal heating and cooling has clearly grown out of being a niche market.

Brussels, 25 April 2007. Gerhard Rabensteiner, managing director of KIOTO Clear Energy AG, has been elected new president of the European Solar Thermal Industry Federation (ESTIF). He succeeds Ole Pilgaard, who – after more than 4 years at the head of ESTIF – takes on a new position as president of Heliodyne, Inc.in the United States.

3rd European Solar Thermal Energy Conference to offer latest market information.

Solar cooling and summer comfort: Workshop on 25 April in Aix-les-Bains, France

On 25 April 2007, a one day workshop on "Solar cooling and summer comfort" will be held in Aix-les-Bains in France. The workshop is organised by Etienne Wurtz (INES, Chambéry) and Hans Martin Henning (Fraunhofer ISE, Germany).

The morning session is dedicated to Solar Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration and consists of two blocks covering "technologies" and "practical experiences". The afternoon session offers a variety of presentations and discussions on summer comfort in buildings.

Brussels, 2 February 2007. The European Solar Thermal Industry Federation (ESTIF) published today a Solar Thermal Action Plan for Europe. The document spells out the benefits of solar heating and a clear target for 2020. Concrete guidelines for support measures shall help policy makers implement effective policies.
