RES policy cooperation

Date: 31 May 2017
Category: Solar Heat News

As part of the multilateral cooperation among RES trade associations, ae RES policy group meets regularly. The group, composed of policy officers of all RES trade associations in Brussels, allows for a platform of information exchange, and coordinates joint positions and activities.

The recent discussions have focused on the latest intelligence related to the Clean Energy Package. Among other things, topics discussed were the RES industries support for a higher target, as proposed by ITRE Rapporteur Blanco Lopez, and the division of competencies among ITRE and ENVI committees in the Parliament. Members also shared information on the incoming EU Sustainable Energy Week, and discussed how to improve cooperation among officers, bridging the increasing lack of trust among associations with different positions on the package.
