ESTIF presented its policy positions to Italian Regions

On May 4, the network coordinating all Italian regions offices in Brussels organized a workshop on the Clean Energy Package. ESTIF has been invited to present its positions to the audience of regional administrators.

The meeting intended to deepen the aspects of the package that fall within the responsibility of the Italian regions: energy efficiency in buildings and renewable energies. This meeting was intended to contribute in shaping the Italian position with the Italian Permanent Representation.

The meeting envisaged a focus on the European Commission's proposals, framing them in the wider "Energy Union". In two subsequent sessions, the topics have been addressed with DG Energy officials followed by stakeholders, such as European business associations. ESTIF presented its positions on the Clean Energy Package, also on behalf of the whole renewable heating sector. The main issues affecting solar thermal have been explained to the audience, and some advices on how to improve the proposals have been made. For ESTIF, it has been a very good opportunity to spread knowledge of the technology to energy experts, while shaping policy-makers from different levels, all in one meeting.
