5th LabelPack A+ project meeting in Paris

Possible re-adjustments of actions related to the implementation of the Energy Labelling Regulations has been discussed at the 5th LabelPack A+ project meeting on 23 & 24 March in Paris hosted by ENERPLAN.

The project reached the crucial phase of monitoring its results and adapt a different approach in order to satisfy both the needs of the stakeholders, the national pilot projects partners and the obligations connected with the Grant Agreement.

As the penetration of the package label in EU is low according the consortium and feedbacks received from non-project countries as well, it is important that the project readjusts its focus to make a positive contribution in the 10 months until it finishes.

Therefore, the partners discussed options to still use the capabilities of the project in order to put together feedback and inputs to the review process of Lot1 and Lot2. These inputs should reflect views of different stakeholders, such as manufacturers, installers, consumers and public authorities.

The partners also debated considering scenarios regarding the future options for the implementation of the package label, including on to reinforce the implementation, using both “carrot and stick measures” or considering the termination of the package label. Other studies, such as a sensitivity analysis on the “behaviour” of the package label for different combinations were also discussed.

All in all, the LabelPack A+ project is currently re-defining its tasks and goals in order to bring valuable information to the Solar thermal industry and to the EC for the revision of Lot1 and Lot2.
