Category: Solar Heat News

On 16 January 2017 a meeting took place between ESTIF, EASME and DG ENER regarding energy labelling and the review of Lot1 and Lot2.

ESTIF reported briefly on the findings of the Labelpack A+ project focusing on the implementation of the package label for space and water heaters in the different EU countries and presented some of the concerns of the solar thermal sector regarding the implementation of the package label and possible ways to address it in connection to the review of Lot1 and Lot2.

The EC gave an overview on the process of reviewing Lot1 and Lot2 which is currently at the preparation phase and a Consultation Forum will be held on it at the 2nd or 3rd quarter of 2017. A new contractor is assessing the energy label in order to make it more easy to understand for consumers.

Third party certifications and the use of the new PEF in Lot1and Lot2 have also been discussed and several follow-up actions were agreed, including reporting from ESTIF to DG ENER on the role of market surveillance entities at the project countries on the implementation of the energy, including the package label.
