EurActiv event - The Clean Energy Package: Towards a smart and sustainable heat market

The European Copper Institute (ECI), the European Solar Thermal Industry Federation (ESTIF), the European Geothermal Energy Council (EGEC) and the European Biomass Association (AEBIOM) are collaborating with EurActiv, the European news outlet, in organising a High-Level Conference on Renewable Heating & Cooling on Tuesday 30 May 2017 in Brussels.
This conference aims at involving policy makers in tacking into consideration the Renewable Heating & Cooling sector during the debates which will happen in the European Parliament and in the European Council.
Questions tackled during this debate will include:
- What European level actions can be taken to correct the bias of the heat market towards fossil fuels, and against renewables?
- What policies and concrete measures are needed by the EU institutions and member states?
- What role for local authorities in decarbonising the H&C sector?
