RES associations want a higher 2030 target
Date: 28 Apr 2017Category: Solar Heat News
Representatives of renewable trade associations met on the 25th April to discuss the Clean Energy Package. The point of the meeting was to find common ground on different points under discussion and discuss potential common initiatives.
One of the main results of this meeting is that all the associations agreed in asking for a more ambitious 2030 target, that shall be at least 35%, while the European Commission was proposing only 27%. Some common actions will be prepared on this call for a more ambitious target.
Other topics were also discussed, such as binding national targets or the electrification of heating, where diverse opinions subsist. Still, RES trade associations will still continue to dialogue and find common ground where possible, particularly considering the challengs all are facing with regard to the discussions on the Clean Energy Package.
