Update on the package label and LabelPack A+

Date: 31 Oct 2016
Category: Solar Heat News

The LabelPack A+ consortium, led by ESTIF is supporting the implementation of the EU's Energy Labelling Directive in 6 European project countries and already started to establish cooperation with non-participating countries through discussions with their national associations in Berlin (July, 2016). According the experience and information gathered by the consortium, one year after the introduction of the innovative package label for space and water heating systems, there is still a long way to go for the proper implementation of the package label. Press releases were disseminated on the first anniversary of the label both at the EU and national level in order to raise awareness on the label itself and also on the state of the implementation. National Surveillance Agencies will be addressed in a targeted manner at a later stage, feedback will be given to the EC on the labelling initiative.

The project itself has reached the half of its lifecycle. In the past 18 months, various materials and tools were developed, including:

-             Guidelines on energy labelling

-             6 National Pilot Projects

-             6 National Stakeholders Platforms

-             Training and information package (in 5 languages)

-             Communication materials (in 5 languages)

-             Online label calculation tool, including a user’s area (in 5 languages)

The online calculation tool is getting to be better known at the different EU countries due to the dissemination, communication and training activities.
