Date: 31 May 2016
Category: Solar Heat News

The ESTIF Board met in Frankfurt on the 23rd May for the third meeting of 2016. The Board dedicated a relevant part of the meeting preparing the next General Assembly, discussing about elections and how to engage members on the process and the GA itself.

The main discussion of the meeting, also relevant for the GA preparation, was on strategy for the sector and the work of ESTIF, based on a reflection of the future of solar thermal & heating and cooling. This discussion took into account the developments in the market and the political scenarios. One of the main themes of debate was the issue of electrification of the heating sector. This topic is becoming more evident, on the follow-up of the European Strategy for Heating and Cooling and the legislative review in place.

ESTIF shall work, with external support, on a white paper compiling different relevant issues for solar thermal, including on the topic of electrification of heat.

Other relevant issues addressed during this meeting included updates and discussion on the legislative review and on labelling and certification.

The minutes will be available at the Member-only section of the ESTIF website when approved. For further details please contact: pedro.dias(at)estif.org
