On the 1st of March, ESTIF participated in the final conference of the project ‘Connecting People for Green Skills’, in Brussels. The project aims to detect the work and training factors that make it impossible for construction sector professionals to get jobs which require new qualifications and skills. Solar thermal installing skills were addressed and recognized as valuable assets for the employability in the construction sector.

The goal of the event, which gathered European stakeholders in the field of green construction and employment, was to present the potential of "green" jobs in tackling unemployment in the construction sector and to highlight the need to match the demand for skilled labor, while anticipating and managing change in terms of the need for human capital.

The conference did showcase the implemented activities and the transferability of the achieved results of the GREEN SKILLS project, as well as a number of best practices from EU countries that have a significant potential for job creation within this sector.
