Package Label meetings in Berlin - LabelPack A+
Date: 20 Jul 2016Category: Solar Heat News
The LabelPack A+ project consortium gathered in Berlin in order to discuss the main achievements of the project and plan next tasks. After the extensive and fruitful 2 days long project meeting, on 8 July, the consortium welcomed the representatives of national associations from countries that are not involved in the project with the aims of exchanging views, assessing the implementation of the EU's Energy Labelling Directive at the different countries and establishing potential cooperation while sharing an overview on the LabelPack A+ project and its tools.
After an introduction on the National Pilot Projects being implemented in 6 EU countries, the different project outputs have been presented, including the training and communication materials as well as the LabelPack A+ online label calculation tool. The tools are designed to be easily adaptable and therefore replicable in new countries.
The participants representing national solar associations agreed that similar initiatives to this project are needed at national level to support installers, inform consumers and for enabling the supply chain to meet the requirements of the Regulation. There is a general lack of information and tools all over the EU regarding the package labelling initiative.
At the meeting potential cooperation has been assessed between the LabelPack A+ consortium and non-project countries in order to support the implementation of the energy labelling of heating appliances, especially in regards to the package label.
