Delivery of investment – H2020 PDA call for proposals

Date: 20 Jul 2016
Category: Solar Heat News

On 30 June, EASME organized a webinar on preparing successful proposals for the H2020 PDA call (EE-22-2016), giving concrete tutorial on how to prepare proposal. It was the 2nd session of a series, the 1st one was held on 20 May during which the scheme itself was explained (find the presentations here).

The PDA aims at launching concrete sustainable energy efficiency investment projects and it is complimentary to the European Investment Bank’s ELENA scheme which is designed for larger scale investments.

Deadline for proposals under the EE-22-2016 is 15 September 2016, 17.00 (CET). PDA funds different project development activities (feasibility studies, financial engineering, business plans, technical specifications or procurement procedures, etc.).

In order to be successful as an applicant your project has to trigger investment, have an exemplary dimension, shall bring innovation in financial engineering and has to be replicable. PDA does not target demonstration projects (however the proposal could include technical innovation as well) but primarily targets investment programmes, financing models. Project that exclusively aiming at establishing financial schemes may apply to EE-23-2017 instead of PDA.  A successful proposal has to demonstrate at the time of the application that its implementation will work, credibility is one of the most important criteria that will be assessed. Therefore, a sufficient basis is needed for the project, that ensures successful delivery.

Projects need to be simple and operational with tangible impact.

10-15      projects are foreseen to be financed under the call.

Proposals can be submitted by at least 1 public or private entity and cover a wide range of sectors (e.g. existing public and private buildings, energy efficient retrofitting of existing district heating/cooling schemes, etc.)

Slides and recording of the webinar will be available here.
