Based on an enquiry of their members, the French solar association ENERPLAN expects a newly installed capacity of 70.000 kWth this year (collector area of 100.000m2). This would correspond to a doubling of the market in just one year.

The enquiry showed installation figures for the first three quarters of:

• 10.000 small DHW systems with an installed capacity of 31.500 kWth
• 1.300 combisystems with a capacity of 11.200 kWth and
• 10.000 m² large scale DHW systems

According to current trends ENERPLAN projects the whole 2005 market to finish at

• 14.000 small DHW systems with a capacity of 45.500 kWth
• 1.800 combisystems with a capacity of 16.800 kWth and
• 15.000 m² large scale DHW systems
