The Solar Keymark a to z
Solar keymark: THE Quality Label for Solar Thermal Products in Europe
A new brochure to help boost your solar thermal business
The Solar Keymark was developed by the European Solar Thermal Industry
Federation (ESTIF) and CEN (European Committee for Standardisation)
in close co-operation with leading European test labs and with the support of the European Commission.
It is the main quality label for solar thermal products and is widely spread across the European market and beyond.

solar thermal potential in europe
The potential of solar thermal in Europe
To provide the European Union and its Member States with substantiated information on the contribution solar thermal can make to the 20% renewable energy target set by the RES Directive (2009/28/EC), detailed surveys were conducted in five representative countries: Austria, Denmark, Germany, Poland, Spain. The information gathered was then extrapolated to the 27 EU countries and the future heating and cooling demand was calculated for 2020, 2030 and 2050, taking into account a decline of the overall energy demand due to energy efficiency measures.
Bycompleting the order form you will be able to obtain a free pdf copy of the study.
European Solar Days, 1-13 May 2012
The European Solar Days successfully promote the use of a free unlimited renewable energy source available everywhere to everyone to generate electricity as well as heating and cooling: the SUN.
They are celebrated in an increasing number of countries and in 2011 around 8000 events were held in 19 European countries by diverse organisations ranging from solar equipment manufacturers to schools and local authorities.
Solar Keymark: A certification scheme for Europe
The Solar Keymark is widely recognised in solar thermal support programmes throughout Europe.
The mark certifies the conformity of a solar thermal collector or system to the relevant European Standards
(EN 12975 or EN 12976).
For information on how to obtain the Solar Keymark, please see www.solarkeymark.org
A Strategic Research Agenda for solar thermal
Making solar thermal products even better
and work in more applications. This is the solar thermal sector's goal.
Industry and researchers have come together in the European Solar Thermal Technology Panel (ESTTP) to identify the needs of solar thermal R&D.
Among the top priorities are compact heat storages, solar thermal for industrial processes, and solar cooling. With the right kind of research solar thermal can be used for much more than just heating houses or sanitary water.

Solar thermal will make a substantial contribution to EU renewables targets
Date : 19/06/07Brussels/Freiburg, 19 June: As the fastest growing sector in renewable heating and cooling, solar thermal can deliver a substantial contribution to reaching the EU targets for renewables, if the right policies are quickly introduced at EU level and in the Member States.
MoreEuropean Solar Thermal Energy conference opens with signs of growth
Date : 19/06/07Brussels/Freiburg, 19 June: estec2007, the largest international solar thermal conference ever held opens today in Freiburg. With 550 participants from over 50 countries, estec has almost doubled its size, confirming its status as the premier solar thermal event worldwide.
MoreEuropean Solar Thermal Technology Platform presented first findings at estec2007
Date : 19/06/07Brussels/Freiburg, 19 June: Since the decision of the European Union to set a binding target of 20% renewables in 2020, it becomes more and more obvious that renewable heating and cooling must play a large role to achieve this target. The need to rapidly increase the usage of solar thermal ...
MoreUPDATE: Study on Italian solar thermal market now available for download
Date : 19/06/07Brussels, 24 April 2007. A new survey on the Italian solar thermal market shows that about 130 MWth (186,000 m²) new capacity was installed during 2006. This makes Italy the fifth largest solar thermal market in Europe. This figure shows that the size of the Italian market had been vastly...
More2 100 MWth of new capacity: another record year for solar thermal in Europe
Date : 19/06/07Brussels/Freiburg, 19 June 2007: Today, the European Solar Thermal Industry Federation (ESTIF) has published their latest market statistics for the 27 EU Member States and Switzerland at their bi-annual estec conference. The market development in 2006 exceeded expectations and solar thermal heating...
