ESTIF Webinar on Global Solar Certification !

Since many of our Members expressed interest on the topic, ESTIF is currently organising a webinar on Global Certification.

The interactive webinar will be held on Thursday, the 18th of February from 11h to 12h (CET). And it is available for ESTIF Members.

For more information, do not hesitate to contact us at info(at)estif.org.

Latest News: Solar Certification Fund - 7th call for proposals is now OVER

Dear Candidates of the 7th SCF Call,

We acknowledge receipt of your applications.

We received many propositions and they will be reviewed by the SCF Steering Group. The final decision on the proposals that will be receiving funding shall be taken on the 8th and 9th of March 2016 by the Solar Keymark Network, during its next meeting.

Once a final decision is reached, you will be informed! Stay tuned!

Thank you for attending SHC 2015!

We were happy to welcome 233 participants from 37 countries around the world in Istanbul, Turkey!

Thanks to all authors for their high quality contributions. Also many thanks to the reviewers for their dedicated support and to all our sponsors who helped to make this conference a success. The Solar Heating and Cooling for Buildings and Industry conference, a conference of the IEA Solar Heating and Cooling Programme and the European Solar Thermal Industry Federation (ESTIF), is the premier annual event for solar professionals in heating and cooling applications.

SHC 2015 was hosted by GÜNDER, the Turkish section of the International Solar Energy Society in Istanbul, Turkey. It led researchers, market specialists and industry to the bridge between two continents. The conference program brought together the latest developments in solar heating and cooling and highlight local market success.A special Industry Day complemented the scientific program with topics such as new markets and products, competitiveness, and future trends. Turkey is the largest solar thermal market in Europe and solar is an integral part of Turkey's sustainable energy roadmap.

2014 European Solar Thermal Market

2014 Solar Thermal Markets in Europe (published June 2015)

In 2014, the European market, once again, underwent a reduction in the newly installed capacity. The 2014 market amounted to 2 GWth (approximately 2.8 mio m²). This represents a decrease of 6.8% in comparison with the previous year.

The total installed capacity recorded a net increase of 1.6 GWth, now reaching 31.8 GWth (45.4 mio m²), representing an increase of 5.2% compared with the total installed capacity at the end of 2013.

European Solar Days 2015: 1 - 15 May

The European Solar Days successfully promote the use of a free unlimited renewable energy source available everywhere to everyone to generate electricity as well as heating and cooling: the SUN.

They are celebrated in an increasing number of countries and in 2013 around 6000 events were held in 20 European countries by diverse organisations ranging from solar equipment manufacturers to schools and local authorities.

Solar Keymark: A certification scheme for Europe

The Solar Keymark is widely recognised in solar thermal support programmes throughout Europe.

The mark certifies the conformity of a solar thermal collector or system to the relevant European Standards
(EN 12975 or EN 12976).

For information on how to obtain the Solar Keymark, please see www.solarkeymark.org

A Strategic Research Agenda for solar thermal

Making solar thermal products even better
and work in more applications. This is the solar thermal sector's goal.

Industry and researchers have come together in the European Solar Thermal Technology Panel (ESTTP) to identify the needs of solar thermal R&D.

Among the top priorities are compact heat storages, solar thermal for industrial processes, and solar cooling. With the right kind of research solar thermal can be used for much more than just heating houses or sanitary water.
